Worldwide glass market and trends from GPD 2015

Executive summary from GPD 2015

For me, GPD offers too much relevant information to let it just sit there unused and abandoned. That’s why I’m collecting and releasing five presentations for all glass industry professionals to use in their own presentations or educational materials. They are 100% FREE to use.

I will cover the following topics in the order listed below:

  1. Market
  2. Design
  3. Technology
  4. Energy
  5. Processing

The presentations analyze the glass industry developments and trends. The materials shown at the GPD 2015 conference are the foundation for these presentations.

I have gone through approximately 8,000 PowerPoint slides from which I have hand-selected those that best represent the latest developments. If you feel that I missed something, please let me know – I can always add more slides.

We’re releasing the presentations as special executive summaries. This is our way of thanking all of the participants, and I truly hope that you take this opportunity to spread the good word.

As mentioned, feel free to use the material provided in your presentations. The only thing we request from you is to give credit to the authors. I feel that it is extremely important that we share our passion for glass with generations to come – and with respect towards our colleagues.

I’ll gladly do my part as a contributor. That said, I hope you enjoy the highlights.

Conclusion

I’m truly glad to see how GPD has developed into an informational hub among the international glass industry professionals. GPD has also become the leading host of presentations and discussions about innovation, technology and best industrial practices.

Lastly, I want to give special thanks to Bernard Jean Savaëte for making his materials available to us. Bernard has been a long-time friend of mine and a long-time glass industry influencer. He has explored the history of glass. And now, he has shed light on the future of the glass industry.
