E nossa grande inova\u00e7\u00e3o foi torn\u00e1-los transparentes pela primeira vez. Transparentes o suficiente para serem usados em janelas.<\/p>\n<p>Essa inova\u00e7\u00e3o surgiu a partir de pesquisas realizadas no MIT pela nossa cofundadora, Dra. Elise Strobach. Sua pesquisa de doutorado foi a base dessa descoberta. Agora, nosso trabalho \u00e9 produzir folhas grandes desse material a um pre\u00e7o acess\u00edvel e em um formato que a ind\u00fastria de janelas possa adotar.<\/p>\n<p>Aerog\u00e9is s\u00e3o materiais superisolantes originalmente desenvolvidos pela NASA para isolar espa\u00e7onaves. Esse material \u00e9 composto por cerca de 97% de ar \u2014 uma nanostrutura que basicamente aprisiona o ar. \u00c9 extremamente leve, resistente ao fogo e possui diversas propriedades incr\u00edveis. E, como mencionado, nossa inova\u00e7\u00e3o foi torn\u00e1-lo transparente pela primeira vez.<\/p>\n<p>Al\u00e9m disso, esse material impede qualquer tipo de condu\u00e7\u00e3o ou convec\u00e7\u00e3o \u2014 os dois principais modos de transfer\u00eancia de calor em janelas. Portanto, o uso de aerogel permite que fabricantes de janelas melhorem o desempenho t\u00e9rmico sem alterar a espessura ou o peso da janela.<\/p>\n<p>Este \u00e9 o segundo GPD da AeroShield. Participamos pela primeira vez em 2023. E nos \u00faltimos dois anos, alcan\u00e7amos marcos importantes. Obtivemos avan\u00e7os tanto na transpar\u00eancia quanto na manipula\u00e7\u00e3o dos aerog\u00e9is. Tamb\u00e9m conseguimos produzir tamanhos maiores do que antes. Por exemplo, a AeroShield agora fabrica portas de entrada e portas de p\u00e1tio. E este ano, anunciamos uma parceria com uma grande empresa americana do setor. O primeiro produto ser\u00e1 lan\u00e7ado no pr\u00f3ximo ano, algo muito empolgante.<\/p>\n<p>Ao longo da nossa trajet\u00f3ria, tivemos muitas surpresas. Por exemplo, n\u00e3o imagin\u00e1vamos o alcance da nossa ideia inicial de tornar o vidro mais eficiente energeticamente. Recebemos contatos n\u00e3o s\u00f3 de fabricantes de janelas, mas tamb\u00e9m de portas de freezer de supermercados. Tamb\u00e9m fomos procurados por empresas de ve\u00edculos el\u00e9tricos, onde o uso do ar-condicionado afeta a autonomia. Portanto, h\u00e1 uma necessidade de tornar esses carros mais eficientes tamb\u00e9m. H\u00e1 uma ampla gama de aplica\u00e7\u00f5es para nossa tecnologia.<\/p>\n<p>Criar um novo material \u00e9 um grande desafio. E sempre reservamos um momento divertido no final do ano para refletir sobre o que aconteceu. Minha hist\u00f3ria favorita \u00e9 de algu\u00e9m que estava carregando um aerogel perto de uma porta aberta, e o vento soprou o material da prateleira, quebrando-o.
